There is a very good chance Vick gets the start this week because of Kevin Kolb's concussion
It’s just the first week of the National Football League season, but there were some games where key players left to concussions. Not only did it affect the outcomes of the opener, but it leaves a blurry picture on trying to handicap week 2 games.  The most curious situation is in Philadelphia. Starter Kevin Kolb was knocked out with a concussion. Kolb’s stats were not impressive in the first half. He went 5 of 10 for 24 yards.  Michael Vick came in and ignited the offense. He threw for 175 yards and a touchdown and ran for 103 yards.  Eagles coach Andy Reid said after the game that Kolb is still the No. 1 quarterback and will return when healthy.

Week 2 NFL Lines
The week 2 nfl lines are posted with the opening NFL odds included
The first week of NFL action brought about some interesting storylines. Are the Colts no longer the dominant team in the AFC East? Houston played exceptionally well, and Tennessee and Jacksonville had nice wins. Will Michael Vick be the starter in Philadelphia? Kevin Kolb was terribly ineffective. Are the Patriots and Giants back to old form? Both teams scored big home wins. And what about the Cowboys’ showing in Washington? Heads are gonna roll in the Big D.

TCU Football
TCU was favored by 50 last week and covered
How many points are too much? When it comes the first two weeks of the college football season, the top teams are laying some big chalk.  And guess what, they are covering a lot of the time. They may be called square bettors who lay the wood, but they are cashing tickets.

New England Patriots Football
The Patriots moved up 2 spots to the number 3 spot in our NFL power rankings this week
1. New Orleans Saints, 1-0 (1) – The Saints earned a hard fought victory over the Vikings. The offense ended up being balanced, but expect to see Sean Payton run the ball more often in the first half of games. Garrett Hartley can’t afford miss easy kicks. The New Orleans defense was impressive.

The Michigan Wolverines are quickly climbing up the top 25 rankings thanks to the play of Denard Robinson
1. Alabama Crimson Tide, 2-0 (1) – The Tide rolled over Penn State Saturday night. Mark Ingram’s injury hasn’t slowed down a balanced, powerful offensive attack. Trent Richardson ran especially well, totaling 144 rushing yards and averaging 6.5 yards per carry. Alabama should have no trouble with Duke, but the schedule gets tougher with a trip to Arkansas followed by a visit from Florida. Last week: Defeated Penn State, 24-3. This week: at Duke (1-1).

The San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs will both have new-look offenses this season when they meet in the second game of a Monday Night Football doubleheader, although for  different reasons.  The Chargers are 4.5-point road favorites on the NFL betting odds despite the fact that they will be without their all-time leading rusher and top wide receiver from last season while the Chiefs have a new offensive coordinator in former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis.
