San Diego improved to 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS during preseason play under second-year head coach Mike McCoy, as it picked up a 27-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys as 3.5-point home favorites in Week 1, while going UNDER the betting total of 37.  Chargers signal-callers started the game a perfect 12-for-12, while the offense in general racked up 395 yards—something to consider when looking over the NFL betting lines.  On the other side of the ball, the stop unit allowed just seven points and 274 yards of offense.

The Chargers know they’ll be in a hostile environment when playing at CenturyLink Field, considering this will be the Seahawks first home games since capturing the Super Bowl.  San Diego would like to get some key players to suit up on the defensive end after missing the opener, including cornerback Brandon Flowers and end Dwight Freeney.  The franchise is 4-8 SU against Seattle when meeting up prior to the regular season.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll wasn’t too bothered about suffering a 21-16 loss to the Denver Broncos as one-point road favorites last week, but he was certainly upset about the roster racking up 13 penalties for 131 yards.  The Seahawks have been known to draw a flag or two, as they led the league with 128 during the 2013-14 campaign, which can’t be ignored when making your NFL betting picks.  Offensively, the squad has an intriguing battle going on for the backup position behind starting quarterback Russell Wilson, with Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor doing battle.

The Seahawks sported the NFL’s top-ranked defense a year ago, with that unit being led by three All-Pros in Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.  Seattle is going to receive a good amount of action in this matchup, considering Carroll is 21-12 SU and 23-9-1 ATS in exhibition play, which includes covering 11 of 12 games versus opponents coming off a SU win.

Sports bettors will likely back the Seahawks due to the fact that they’ve covered the number in their second game of the preseason the last two years.
