The Fairfield Stages are 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings with the Iona Gaels

Fairfield will attempt to snap a three-game losing streak, which includes a 67-64 setback to Niagara as six-point home favorites Sunday, while going UNDER the posted total of 134.  The Stags are outscoring opponents by just 1.3 points per game, which has led to a 10-8 overall record and 2-4 mark during Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.  Tonight marks the 98th meeting in this series, with the program compiling a 40-57 all-time record.  Fairfield is 3-4 ATS as an underdog this season, something to consider when making your NCAA basketball picks Friday night.

The Stags have played all of their conference games against teams in the top five of the standings thus far, which is important to note when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Fairfield is a defensive-minded team, which is why its important that it comes in with some tenacity in this affair, as it has lost seven of nine games when allowing 60 or more points.  Only four teams in Division I have played 15 of its first 19 games away from home, which could signal that this program is on fumes.

Iona has rattled off five wins in a row, including a 97-87 victory over Canisius as 6.5-point home favorites Sunday, while going OVER the total for a third-straight contest.  The Gaels have compiled a 297-201 all-time record in regular season conference games since the 1981-82 campaign, but are 22-24 ATS versus such opponents since 2010.  Iona is 5-0 ATS after allowing 80 points or more this season, with the OVER going 8-6 in that situation over the last two-plus seasons.

The Gaels have won all three of their MAAC home games this year, while posting a 18-2 mark at the Hynes Center in the last two-plus seasons under head coach Tim Cluess.  Iona entered its last game with three players averaging in double figures, with senior captain Lamont Jones leading the way, scoring 22.9 points per game.

Sports bettors will likely back the Stags due to their 5-1 ATS mark in the last six meetings in this series.
