Vikings Bills NFL Preview
The Minnesota Vikings need a huge performance out of RB Adrian Peterson Sunday

Minnesota will play at Green Bay for the 106th meeting between the two NFC North rivals, with running back Adrian Peterson set to appear on the football field for the 100th time as a professional.  He is tied for second in the league with three 100-yard rushing games this season, which is important to consider when making your pro football picks in Week 12.  The franchise is searching for its first road win in this series since 2009.  Minnesota is 2-7 SU and 2-6-1 ATS in Weeks 10 through 13 the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 6-3 in that situation.

The Vikings have used three signal-callers this season, but Christian Ponder will stay under center for the time being despite being pulled from a 41-20 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday.  “I’m excited to be out there again,” commented Ponder during practice.  “I need to be more consistent.”  The former Florida State star has completed 28 of 59 passes for 309 yards with three interceptions in losing both his career starts at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay has lost three games in a row, with each affair going UNDER the total, including a 27-13 setback to the New York Giants as 3.5-point road underdogs last week.  The Packers have scored 30 or more points in five of their last six regular-season games against the Vikings, averaging 35.0 points over that span.  The franchise is a dominating 11-4 SU against Minnesota during the Mike McCarthy era during regular season play.  Green Bay is 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 6-4 in that situation.

The Packers will be led by quarterback Scott Tolzien offensively, who is under center due to Aaron Rodgers being out with a broken collarbone.  He threw for 339 yards on 24-of-34 passing in last week’s defeat, but it was the most passing yards by a Green Bay quarterback in his first start with the club in franchise history.  The ground game may be the key to picking up a victory in this spot, as the squad has four 180-yard rushing performances thus far in 2013.

Sports bettors will likely back the packers due to their 21-8 ATS mark at home in their last 29 opportunities.
