The Utah State Aggies will play without the services of QB Chuckie Keeton in Week 4

Utah State will play its second road game this season, as it has won 11 of its last 18 games in that situation, including a 4-4 mark under current head coach Matt Wells.  The Aggies are 57-29 SU all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference, which is important to consider when making your Week 4 college football picks, while their last nine overall losses have come by a combined 79 points.  Utah State is 1-3 SUATS as road underdogs of three or fewer points the last two-plus seasons, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (2-2 Over/Under).

The Aggies top two quarterbacks are a combined 25-12, including a 6-1 mark with sophomore Darell Garretson under center, as he’ll take over for an injured Chuckie Keeton.  Utah State’s defense has forced seven turnovers in its last two games, while its three defensive touchdowns are tied for the most in the nation with the UCLA Bruins.  It’s important to point out that the program has led at the half in 24 of its last 31 contests—compiling a 21-3 record in that situation.

Arkansas State returns home after dropping back-to-back road games to the Tennessee Volunteers and Miami Hurricanes as 16 and 14.5-point underdogs respectively, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page.  The Red Wolves are averaging 3.7 sacks per game, which is tied for the 13th highest average in the country, while they’ve become bowl eligible in six of their last nine campaigns.  Over the first three weeks of the season, the team has had 11 players earn their first start, while 13 true freshmen have taken the field.  Arkansas State is 0-2 SUATS as home favorites of three or fewer points since 2012.

The Red Wolves are looking for their first victory over a Mountain West Conference opponent, while they’ve captured 17 of their last 19 home games.  Arkansas State is 42-9 SU at Centennial Bank Stadium since the 2005 season, as it looks to avoid three consecutive losses for the first time since the last three games of its 2010 campaign.

Sports bettors will likely back the Aggies due to their 8-2-1 ATS mark in their last 11 games in September.
