Team Needs
Cornerback: With a deep pool of young corners in the 2006 draft, the time is now to draft some future replacements for the aging Barber, Kelly, and Bolden.
Defensive End: Greg Spires and Simeon Rice are starting to age and backup Dewayne White is not an every down player.
Wide Receiver: After Joey Galloway there is not much here. Add into the fact that Galloway is getting up there and time to draft some young blood.
Summary
Tampa Bay is starting to get old and you may see this team go on the decline in the next couple seasons. But with another solid draft like last year, that could just as easily proper themselves up until superbowl contender in the next 2 years with some smart moves. Another reason why the NFL is the premier sports league and the draft is such a vital role to building a team.
We could see the Buccaneers going in a few different directions. First would be snagging a stud cornerback with their first pick. Guys like Tye Hill, from Clemson, Antonio Cromartie out of Florida State, Jimmy Williams out of Virginia Tech, and Miami's Kelly Jennings are all possibilities.
Because the corner position is so deep, drafting a stud wide receiver in the first round may be a better move, than taking a defensive lineman in the second round while grabbing that corner they are looking for in the 3rd.
Tampa Bay could also use some help on the offensive line namely offensive tackle but this will likely be a day 2 selection. Either way this years draft will go along way to whether Tampa becomes elite or back in the dumps.
