Team Needs

Offensive Tackle: Most important need for the Houston is line help. Giving David Carr protection is a must if the Texans wish to turn this club around. Drafting a stud left tackle so Chester Pitts could move to the right side where he is more comfortable is ideal.

Offensive Guard: Not only is Houston looking for help at the tackle position but at guard as well. Milford Brown has been lost to Arizona and Zach Wiegert is on the decline. Fred Weary is also a unrestricted free agent and his status is unknown at this time.

Defensive End: Houston released Gary Walker in a salary cap move and backup Antwan Peek is not the typical pass rushing end. Houston's other ends, Junior Loane and Travis Johnson are better suited at the tackle position.

Summary

Houston would be better off dealing the number 1 pick for a slew of picks to help fix all their problems. Reggie Bush is a phenomenal athlete but if he can't run through any holes and if Carr can't get anytime to pass the ball, 1 player isn't going to improve their 2-14 record from 2006.

With that being said, unless a blockbuster steal of a deal comes in, the Texas will draft Bush number 1. Trading down to get Virginia's offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson would be smart but don't count on it.

Houston will still have 3 day 1 draft picks if they don't deal the number and this is where they will be able to fill some voids with solid players. Miami's Eric Winston in round 2 makes sense, than look for them to pickup a defensive end in the third round.
