Team Needs
Defensive Tackle: The Bengals run defense was suspect last year. The could use a big bulky body to clog up the middle and draw double teams, keep blockers off of the linebackers, allowing the rest of the defense to perform better.
Tight End: The Bengals lost Matt Schobel to the Eagles and backup Tony Stewart is still unsigned. Even if Stewart resigns an upgrade is necessary.
Defensive End: Justin Smith is a stud, but the Bengals could use another end to compliment Smith. Carl Powelll is on the decline, they released Duane Clemons, and Robert Geathers is more of a run stopper than pass rusher.
Summary
Cincinnati will still need solve the backup quarterback issue after losing backup John Kitna to Detroit, but free agency is a better option to find a veteran than the draft. If not look for a third round pick on a QB like Drew Olson or Marcus Vick if the Bengals want to use the draft to find a viable backup QB.
Luckily there is a wealth of defensive tackles for the Bengals choosing. Michigan's Gabe Watson, Florida State's Brodrick Bunkley, Oklahoma's Dusty Dvoracek, and LSU's Claude Wroten are all possible players Cincinnati could snag in the draft to help bolster the defensive line.
