Coach: Ted Roof (3rd year at Duke)
Team Name: Blue Devils
2004 Record: 2-9
2004 ACC Conference Record 1-7
2004 ATS Record: 6-4
Returning Starters: 12
Over the last 10 years Duke Football has been pitiful. The Blue Devils have had 10 straight losing seasons and haven’t been to a bowl game since 1994. Duke is small, has no depth, and at best is a marginal program playing in one of the nations best conferences. This year duke brought in new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien to try and improve the nations worst offense. The 2004 Duke squad was dead last in the country in total offense only averaging 266 yards per game. What will make things even more difficult for improvement is having 4 new starters on offensive line. The 2005 Duke football team talent wise will be better than the 2004 group that posted a 2-9 record, but the Blue Devils are the ACC’s least talented team and will still be sitting in the basement of the Coastal Division come seasons end.
