San Antonio Spurs PG Tony Parker should have no trouble scoring against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night

San Antonio will close out a four-game road trip on Tuesday night, coming off a 112-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers as 2.5-point favorites, while going UNDER the total for the first time in four contests.  The Spurs are being led by power forward Tim Duncan on the offensive end, averaging 18.9 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, as he had recorded four double-doubles to rank tied for fourth in the league in that category.  San Antonio is 14-5 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons, something to consider when making your NBA picks against the spread.

The Spurs won two of three meetings against the Lakers a season ago, including a 112-91 win as three-point road favorites at the Staples Center on April 17.  Duncan led the way in averaging 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the three contests.  San Antonio will need to take care of the basketball in this Western Conference matchup, committing at least 20 turnovers in the first three games of this road trip, which has allowed opponents to average 100.3 points per game in that span.

Los Angeles has won both of its games under interim head coach Bernie Bickerstaff, as the franchise just hired Mike D’Antoni to take over for Mike Brown.  “I’ve been around a lot of teams, and this is the consummate professional group,” stated Bickerstaff on the state of the team.  The Lakers certainly step up in class in this affair, as their last two wins have come against teams with a combined 5-9 record.  Los Angeles is 6-15 ATS at home when the total is between 195 and 199.5 points.

The Lakers are being led by star guard Kobe Bryant offensively, averaging 26.1 points per game, while new addition Dwight Howard is averaging a double-double in points and rebounds through seven games.  Los Angeles is 11-13 all-time against San Antonio inside the Staples Center, while the UNDER has cashed in seven of the last nine meetings inside the venue.  The team is going to have a hard time matching up with San Antonio point guard Tony Parker, as both Steve Blake and Steve Nash will miss this game due to injury.

Sports bettors will likely back the Spurs due to their 8-0 ATS mark on two days rest, while the Lakers are 2-7 ATS versus Southwest division opponents.
