The Michigan State Spartans will travel close to 12,000 miles in the month of November

Michigan State looks to bounce back from suffering a 66-62 loss to the Connecticut Huskies as eight-point neutral-site favorites, while going UNDER the posted total of 133.5.  “It starts with our big men,” commented Spartans guard Branden Dawson commented after Friday’s game that was played at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.  “All we have to do is come out strong, talk, communicate as a team.”  He scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Keith Appling led all scorers with 17 points.  Michigan State is 10-5 ATS as an underdog the last two-plus seasons, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks and predictions.

The Spartans will travel nearly 12,000 miles in the month of November, which is something for college basketball handicappers to monitor closely.  Michigan State is 2-0 all-time inside the Georgia Dome, as it looks to improve upon its 5-4 record against Tuesday night’s opponent.  Head coach Tom Izzo will likely get after his roster on the defensive end, as the program ranked second in the nation in allowing opponents to shoot just 37.9 percent from the field last year.

Kansas earned a 74-55 victory over Southeast Missouri State as 20-point home favorites on Friday, but it’s important to note that the team hit just 2 of 21 shots from beyond the arc.  “This is going to be a process and Michigan State is not going to let you get to three feet from the basket,” commented Jayhawks head coach Bill Self.  The Jayhawks return three starters from a squad that advanced to the 2012 NCAA championship game, while winning the school’s eighth-straight Big 12 regular-season title.  Kansas is 6-5 ATS in November since 2010, with the UNDER going 6-1 in that situation.

The Jayhawks have compiled a solid 43-23 record against ranked opponents during the Self era, which includes a 33-13 mark over the last six seasons.  Kansas has also posted a better than .500 record away from Allen Fieldhouse in every season under Self’s watch, which includes an 8-2 mark on the road a year ago.

Sports bettors will likely back the Spartans due to their 7-2 ATS mark against Big 12 opponents, while the Jayhawks are 3-11 ATS versus Big Ten foes.
