The Rams and 49ers renew their rivalry Thursday night in Santa Clara.

The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers renew their rivalry Thursday night in Santa Clara. The 49ers lead the series 68-64-3 against the Rams. San Francisco has won three straight games against the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers won at home 28-0 and in LA 22-21 on Christmas Eve last year. These two teams have been play each other since 1950.

Los Angeles is 1-1 this season under first year coach Sean McVay. The Rams opened the season with a 46-9 thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts at home but lost last week at home 27-20 to the Washington Redskins. The Rams rallied from deficits of 13-0 and 20-10 to tie it up at 20 midway through the fourth. However, Washington scored with just under two minutes left to take a seven point lead. The Rams took over on their own 28 but an interception on the first play of that drive ended any hopes for LA. The Rams were 3 point favorites against the Redskins and the total was 46.5. Los Angeles is 1-1 ATS and the total is 2-0 this season.

San Francisco is coached by Kyle Shanahan, also in his first season. The 49ers are still looking for their first win of the season. San Francisco lost at home to the Carolina Panthers 23-3 and last week at the Seattle Seahawks 12-9. The 49ers led 9-6 in the fourth quarter against the Seahawks but Seattle scored with 7:06 left to take a 12-9 lead. Seattle would miss the extra point. San Francisco went three and out on the next drive and would never touch the ball again. The 49ers are 1-1 ATS and both games went under the total. Seattle was a 13.5 point favorite and the total was 42.
