Army is coming off a 50-25 victory over Eastern Michigan last week and the team is seeking to turn that momentum into another victory in a game college football oddsmakers at 5dimes find the Black Knights to be 2.5 point underdogs in, as the team travels to face the 0-6 Temple Owls.
The Black Knights seek to pass close to never. The team is 1st in the nation in rushing yardage with 352.3 per game, but generates just 66.7 yards per game via the pass. The offense is still somewhat effective, but still manages just 26.4 points per game.
Knights QB Angel Santiago is the dual-threat QB behind the attack. Santiago has thrown just 46 pass attempts on the year to his 103 carries, but between the two he’s generated over 700 yards and Terry Baggett is a strong running back with 744 yards who boasts a 9.7 yard per carry average. It should be a formidable attack for a team like Temple who has given up an average of 29 points per game this season.
The Owls just don’t have it going offensively or defensively. The team averages just 16.5 points per game and ranks near the bottom of the nation in both pass yardage (92nd, 204 ypg) and rush yardage (89th, 144 ypg). Junior QB Connor Reilly has been a bit of a disappointment to say the least, and has completed just 51.4 percent of his passes, with just 2 TDs and also 2 INTs on the season.
Despite college football oddsmakers predicting Temple snaps its season-long losing streak, bettors may find Army attractive due to the fact the Black Knights have been able to generate offense, even with a one-dimensional attack.
