Notre Dame is rolling along at 7-1 with a No. 8 ranking, and it is a familiar place for the Fighting Irish having been there last season as well. It will travel to Pitt to face the Panthers in a game that it is 9-point favorites in. The betting total is 54 for the game which will air at NOON EST on ABC.

This season the Irish have had a much more difficult road, but it has knocked off then-No. 21 Temple, USC and Navy the past three weeks, by an average of 13.6 points per game. In the 24-20 win over Temple last week Notre Dame scored a late TD on a 17-yard TD pass.

DeShone Kizer finished 23 of 36 for 299 yards with a TD, but he did throw two interceptions. Kizer rushed for another 143 yards on 17 carries with a pair of rushing TDs. He had five receiving options with at least 40 yards, and four of those five had at least five catches. C.J. Prosise got just 25 yards on 14 rushes from the backfield.

Kizer is a super sophomore with 1,669 yards on 123 of 189 passing (65.1 percent) with 8.83 yards per attempt. He has thrown 11 TDs but has six INTs already on the season to go along with 13 times sacked. His raw QBR is 75.5, but he has a 152.1 passer rating.

The past three weeks he has completed 60 of 110 passes for over 800 yards, and last week marked his highest rushing game of the season, as he had yet to total more than 55 yards. Prosise is normally a good back, having rushed for 947 yards on 143 carries this season with a team-high 11 rushing TDs. Kizer is No. 2 on the team in rushing yardage with 318 yards and five TDs afoot.

Pitt is 6-2 and in second place in the ACC -Coastal. It lost last week to North Carolina 26-19, as Marquise Williams threw two long TD passes to move UNC into a No. 21 ranking. Nathan Peterman threw for 262 yards on 27 of 42 passing with a TD pass. WR Tyler Boyd had 89 yards on 10 catches, but the team had just one receiving TD (to Scott Orndoff, 6-yards).

Tyler Boyd did a good job with kick returns, averaging 20 yards per on his two carries.

Peterman is now a junior and finally in possession of a starting role, and he has thrown for 1,373 yards on the season with a 67.4 percent completion ratio. He has thrown 10 TD passes with three INTs and has incurred 17 sacks. His raw QBR is 59.1 and he has a 147.4 passer rating.

Last week was his season high for yardage (262), and one of just three games with 200 or more passing yards. Pitt is just 1-2 in the three games, however.
