PITT

Pittsburgh was badly outplayed in its Week 1 loss. The Steelers got 276 yards from Ben Roethlisberger, but he completed just 27 of 47 and threw an interception with no touchdowns. The Steelers rushed for just 32 yards, with James Connor rushing 10 times for 21 yards and a long-rush of just five yards. The Steelers, meanwhile, surrendered 366 passing yards and 99 rushing yards, while giving up three passing TDs to Tom Brady and picking off nada.

The Steelers had few bright spots in the game, though JuJu Smith-Schuster did catch 6 of 8 targeted passes for 78 yards. There were no other positive takeaways, in a game that saw the Steelers total scoring boil down to little more than a 19-yard field goal from Chris Boswell.

Pittsburgh punter Jordan Berry did average 45.6 yards-per-punt with 2 of his 5 placed within the 20. He also had a long-punt of 58-yards. The Steelers will hope to get more from Conner in Week 2, while hopefully getting a more prolific performance from Roethlisberger.

SEA

The Seattle Seahawks won Week 1 with its 21-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Russell Wilson threw the go-ahead TD score on his 14 of 20 passing. Wilson had 195 yards and two TD passes while throwing no interceptions. He was sacked four times for 35-yards lost but still finished with a passer rating of 134.4.

Wilson’s top target was DK Metcalf, who finished with 89 yards on four catches, though it was Tyler Lockett (one catch for 44 yards) and Chris Carson (6 catches for 34 yards) who accounted for Wilson’s reception TDs.

Carson also led the team in rush attempts (15) and yardage (46) while scoring the lone rushing TD. The seventh-rounder from Oklahoma State rushed for 1,151 yards last season while averaging 4.7 yards-per-attempt while scoring nine rushing TDs last year. He also caught 20 passes for 163 yards. The Seahawks have to be pleased with his week 1 impact and hot start.
