Out of all of the teams in the current AP Top 25, only three have losses: Oregon St, Penn St., and Miami (FL). All three losses came against other teams in the Top 25, meaning that we are still waiting for an upset. Will week 3 be the week? Let’s take a look at some games that have the potential for an upset.
The Irish defense looked good against Purdue and that bodes well in betting against Michigan. The Wolverines are 0-6 ATS when they score fewer than 21 points over the past three seasons. Michigan is 2-11 ATS when they allow 28 or more points the past three seasons and 1-12 when they allow 10 or more yards per passing attempt since 1992.
The Big Ten conference gained a lot of respect last year as its members beat four top 15 teams in bowl games last year including Oregon, Georgia Tech, Miami, and LSU. The respect will only grow this year with Ohio St expected to compete for a BCS national title this year. Penn St, Iowa, and Wisconsin all have a chance to be elite teams as well.
