The New York Jets and Washington Redskins have gotten as much press as any other NFL teams leading up to the regular season. Between HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ and Darrelle Revis’ contract issues, Jets head coach Rex Ryan and company have built on the publicity that began with last year’s postseason march to the AFC title game. The Washington Redskins have similarly seen an excessive amount of attention. Mike Shanahan has taken over as head coach and executive vice president. Donovan McNabb bolted from the city of brotherly love to the nation’s capital. And Albert Haynesworth’s conditioning and medical issues have been hot topics for sports writers.

Redskins Vs Jets Betting Odds & Game Preview

Mark Sanchez and the Jets are 5.5 point favorites tonight over the Redskins
The Washington Redskins (1-1) will be without starting quarterback Donovan McNabb due to a sprained ankle when they visit the New York Jets (1-1) meet on Friday.  Instead, veteran backup QB Rex Grossman gets the nod against Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s defense sans All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis for another week.  New York is favored at -4.5 on the NFL point spreads against Washington in what could be another low-scoring game for both teams (the total is set at 34).

Saints Vs Chargers Preseason Betting Preview & Point Spread

The San Diego Chargers (1-1) and New Orleans Saints (1-1) meet for the first time since reigning Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees avenged his departure from Southern California in London nearly two years ago.  Brees played five seasons with San Diego before he was let go as a free agent in favor of current Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers.  The Saints won that last matchup 37-32 overseas and enter this meeting as a small favorite at -3 with the total set at 43.5.  With the line hovering around the key number of 3, if you are betting this game always make sure you are getting the best number.  View our pro football odds page to compare lines from the offshore sportsbooks.

Packers Vs Colts Betting Odds & Game Preview

The Indianapolis Colts (0-2) and Green Bay Packers (1-1) both have something in common heading into their preseason meeting on Thursday.  Each team is led by a Pro Bowl quarterback and has struggled after he has left the game with the reserves failing to perform.  The Packers seem to have a bigger edge playing at home and are small favorites at -3.5 against the Colts on the current NFL football lines.

The Arizona Cardinals (1-0) and Tennessee Titans (0-1) will both look to follow up strong fourth-quarter efforts with better starts when they meet in their second preseason game on Monday Night Football.  The Cardinals and Titans outscored their opponents by a combined score of 30-0 in the fourth quarter last week, but only one of them emerged victorious.  Tennessee is coming off a 20-18 road loss to the Seattle Seahawks and is a home favorite at -4 against Arizona.

NFL Football Picks: Chargers Vs Cowboys Game Preview

Free NFL Pick: Saints Vs Texans Game Preview

For the second consecutive week, the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints (0-1) held joint practices with their opponent leading up to their preseason game.  The Saints hope that will not work against them again when they face the Houston Texans (0-1) in the preseason for the third year in a row on Saturday.  New Orleans is a small favorite at -1 after losing to the New England Patriots 27-24 last week following a similar routine of joint practices.

Raiders Vs Bears Preview: Some Wiseguys are Predicting a Raider Reverse Action Reward

Expect Cutler and the Bears starters to play the entire 1st half.
The Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears are set to do battle Saturday night at Soldier Field in Chicago. Both teams are looking to improve on disappointing seasons last year. The silver and black made a significant upgrade at quarterback, adding Jason Campbell from Washington. Da Bears added defensive superstar Julius Peppers from Carolina, underrated running back Chester Taylor from Minnesota, and look forward to a healthy Brian Urlacher. 2010 promises to be a better season for both clubs.
