Western Kentucky has won three games in a row, including a 45-7 victory over UTSA as 10.5-point home favorites last week, as it captured the statistical battle by more than 228 yards for a second consecutive contest.  The Hilltoppers are bowl eligible for a fourth consecutive season, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 14 NCAA football betting picks, as that’s the longest active streak in Conference USA.  Offensively, the main player to handicap is quarterback Brandon Doughty, who leads the FBS with 36 touchdown passes.  Western Kentucky is 8-4 SU and 4-8 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons.

The Hilltoppers are prepared to take on a ranked opponent for the first time since 2012, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA football betting lines, as they aim for their first such victory as a member of the FBS.  With two touchdown passes in this matchup, Doughty would establish a career record in that category at 51.  The team has found the end zone 60 times in 2014—needing just three more scores to establish a single-season record.

Marshall has won all 11 of its games in SU fashion, while putting together an 8-3 ATS mark, which includes a 23-18 victory over the UAB Blazers as 17.5-point road favorites last week.  The Thundering Herd lead the conference in averaging 44.9 points per game, while also pacing all teams in surrendering just 16.5 a contest.  Since Doc Holliday became head coach in 2010, the squad has won 30 of 36 games when scoring first, while going 31-2 SU when leading at the break.  Marshall is 9-0 SU and 6-3 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Thundering Herd are the only team in the country to average at least 253 yards rushing and passing, with much of that success occurring due to the presence of signal-caller Rakeem Cato.  Marshall has won all four previous meetings in this series, but the last matchup came back in 1996.

Sports bettors will likely back the Thundering Herd due to their 4-0 ATS mark versus teams with a winning record.
