Georgetown has won 13 consecutive games, including a 64-51 victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as 13.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the posted total of 121.  The Hoyas sit alone the top of the Big East Conference standings with a 13-3 record, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Sophomore forward Otto Porter Jr. continues to dazzle on the floor, as he comes off a 28-point performance.  Georgetown is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 conference games, while the UNDER is 5-2 in its last seven road games.

The Hoya defense has held opponents to 37.6 percent shooting from the field, which ranks eighth nationally.  Georgetown is also 10th in the country in surrendering just 56.3 points per game.  There’s a chance that the program could look past this affair, as it closes the 2012-13 regular season with a home games against Syracuse on Saturday at the Verizon Center.

Villanova has dropped back-to-back games, including a 73-64 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers as 9.5-point road underdogs Sunday, while going OVER the total in three of its last four contests.  The Wildcats are 14-1 this season when sinking six or more triples in a game, while going 4-11 when failing to accomplish that feat.  Offensively, three players are averaging double figures, with forward JayVaughn Pinkston leading the way in scoring 12.7 points per game.  Villanova is 7-3 in its last 10 home games.

The Wildcats are 12-1 this season when scoring 70 or more points in a game this season, while going 6-11 when failing to hit that number.  Villanova has dropped eight of the last nine meetings in this series, including a 67-46 defeat as 10-point road underdogs on Feb. 25, 2012.  Pinkston sustained an ankle injury in pre-game warmups that limited him to two minutes of action in that affair.

Sports bettors will likely back the Hoyas due to their 5-1 ATS mark in the last six meetings in this series.
