Heat Celtics NBA Playoffs Game 2 Preview
The Boston Celtics are just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games versus Western Conference opponents

Los Angeles had its two-game win streak snapped last time out, as it suffered a 98-73 blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors as four-point road favorites Friday, while going UNDER the total for the fourth time in five contests.  “We have to play with an edge more, especially on the road,” stated Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro.  The Clippers have played nine of their last 11 games without the services of All-Star point guard Chris Paul, who is out for this affair.  Los Angeles is 2-7 ATS as road favorites of three points or less this season, which is important to consider when making your NBA picks against the spread on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Clippers are 14-9 overall when playing away from the Staples Center this year, which includes a 4-3 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  Los Angeles earned a convincing 106-77 victory over Boston as nine-point home favorites in the first meeting this season on Dec. 27, while going UNDER the posted total of 189.5.  Overall, the team’s current “Grammy” road trip will span eight games and total approximately 7.586 travel miles.

Boston has captured three games in a row since suffering through a season-high six-game losing streak, as it comes off a 97-84 victory over the Orlando Magic as 8.5-point home favorites.  The Celtics haven’t lost since point guard Rajon Rondo was declared out for the rest of the 2012-13 NBA season, which has served as a rallying cry for a veteran-laden roster.  “We have to be a team by committee,” stated Celtics coach Doc Rivers.  Boston is 1-3 ATS as a home underdog of three points or less this season, which is important to note when looking over the pro basketball odds page.

The Celtics are 16-9 overall when playing at the TD Garden, including a solid 8-3 mark when taking on Western Conference opponents.  Boston will need to find some more scoring on its bench after learning that rookie Jared Sullinger will be out for the rest of the season following back surgery, which was always a concern during his time at Ohio State.

Sports bettors will likely back the Clippers due to their 13-3 ATS mark on Sundays, while the Celtics are 2-9 ATS versus non-conference foes.
