The Philadelphia 76ers will look to move past a miserable road trip

Brooklyn has won three games in a row, including a 113-93 victory over the Sacramento Kings as seven-point home favorites Saturday, while going OVER the total for a third consecutive contest.  “We’re getting our confidence as a group, we’re getting our trust,” commented Nets center Brook Lopez.  The Nets have four probable starters averaging in double figures, with Lopez leading the way in scoring 18.9 points per game, while also grabbing 7.4 rebounds.  Brooklyn is 1-5 ATS as a road underdog of three points or less since 2010, which is important to consider when making your NBA picks against the spread.

The Nets are 7-8 overall away from home this season, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Brooklyn will be aiming for hits third consecutive road win in this series, while it also picked up a 95-92 victory as six-point home favorites in the first meeting this year.  Since P.J. Carlesimo took over on the bench for Avery Johnson, the squad has averaged 101.8 points per game, which happens to be 7.3 points per game more than its season average.

Philadelphia returns home after a miserable 2-6 road trip, which finished with three straight up and against-the-spread losses, including a 109-86 setback to the San Antonio Spurs as 13.5-point underdogs Saturday.  “I have never experienced a road trip like this where it’s three back-to-backs in a row,” commented Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday.  The 76ers are 9-7 at the Wells Fargo Center this year, including a 5-4 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.

The 76ers have gotten it done historically on defense in this series, as they’ve held the Nets to less than 100 points in the last 24 meetings.  Since starting the season with a 10-6 record, Philadelphia has gone 5-14 in its last 19 contests.  It’s still important to note that the franchise has compiled a 39-26 record in games played in January dating back to the 2008-09 campaign.

Sports bettors will likely back the 76ers due to their 4-1 ATS mark on two days rest, while the Nets are 1-6 ATS versus conference foes.
