Atlanta has lost three consecutive games, including a 99-97 setback to the San Antonio Spurs as 10.5-point road underdogs last Saturday, while going OVER the total for the first time in five contests.  “Somewhere along the line, we have forgotten who we are,” commented Hawks coach Larry Drew.  “I’m very concerned about the mentality of our team.”  The Hawks currently don’t have Al Horford or Josh Smith listed as probable starters for this affair, which is important to consider when making your NBA picks against the spread.  Atlanta is 1-3 ATS when playing with three or more days rest this season.

The Hawks haven’t received much production out of Horford in eight road games in this series, as he managed to average just 11.1 points.  Atlanta is 18-21 overall away from Philips Arena this season, including a losing 11-13 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  The franchise has dropped four consecutive road games in this series, with the last victory coming on Oct. 29, 2010.

Philadelphia returns home after dropping three of four on its most recent road trip, including a 104-83 setback to the Brooklyn Nets as 8.5-point underdogs Tuesday night, while going UNDER the total for the sixth time in seven contests.  The 76ers continue to be led by point guard Jrue Holiday on the offensive end, as he’s the only player in the league averaging 18-plus points and eight-plus assists per game.  Philadelphia is 20-18 ATS at home, with the OVER going 24-15 in that situation.

The 76ers are 22-17 overall at the Wells Fargo Center, including a winning 14-10 mark versus conference foes.  Philadelphia has won seven of the past eight meetings in this series, while both teams have scored below 100 points in four of the last six.  It’s important to note that Holiday is averaging just 10.3 points on 28.2 percent shooting in the series this season.  The franchise has posted a winning home mark in 13 of the past 14 campaigns.

Sports bettors will likely play the total in this affair, as the UNDER is 6-1 in the 76ers’ last seven games versus conference rivals.
