Heat Celtics NBA Playoffs Game 2 Preview
The Boston Celtics are trying to lock down the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference

Brooklyn has won back-to-back games, including a convincing 104-83 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers as 8.5-point home favorites Tuesday night, while going UNDER the posted total of 192.  The Nets are closing in on home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, which is important to consider when making your NBA expert picks.  The franchise is 21-17 overall away from the Barclays Center, including a 14-9 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  Brooklyn is 9-12 ATS when playing on back-to-back days this season, with the OVER going 11-10 in that situation.

The Nets have gone 31-18 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo, which ties the best start for a coach in franchise history.  Brooklyn has scored 100 points nine times in its last 13 games, with the team posting an 8-1 mark when hitting that number.  It’s important to point out that the squad has set a franchise record with 21 road victories so far this season, which passed the mark of 20 road wins set in the 2005-06 season.

Boston has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, as it comes off a 107-96 victory over the Washington Wizards as 5.5-point home favorites Sunday, while going OVER the posted total of 190.5.  The Celtics lead the Milwaukee Bucks by three games as they try to cement the No. 7 seed in the postseason and avoid the Miami Heat in the first round.  Boston is 22-16-1 ATS at home this season, with the OVER going 20-18-1 in that situation.

The Celtics have three projected starters that average in double figures, with forward Paul Pierce leading the way in scoring 18.7 points per game.  Boston is 27-12 overall at the TD Garden, including a 15-9 mark versus conference rivals.  Offensively, the team has been on fire from beyond the arc since the All-Star break—ranking fourth in the league in knocking down 38.6 percent of its attempts.

Sports bettors will likely back the Celtics due to their 4-1-1 ATS mark on two days rest, while the Nets are 1-4 ATS versus teams with a winning record.
