Spread: CHI -9.5
Total: 183
M/L: CHI -500, ATL +400

The Hawks have hopped out to a 4-1 start and silenced many critics by beating a good Miami team, when many were saying they only took care of business against relatively inferior opponents. In the victory over Miami, the Hawks received 15 or more points from 4 different players, not the least of which was Tracy McGrady, who is averaging 11.6 points per game and 4.2 rebounds for the Hawks so far in this young season. The Hawks have six players averaging double figures and have been employing a deep 10 man rotation in which all ten players play 15 or more minutes per game.

The Bulls just finished humilating the Memphis Grizziles by winning by 40 and have improved to 4-1 on the season now, good for 2nd in the Central Division. Ronnie Brewer and Carlos Boozer both scored 17 a piece for the Bulls, but it was the defense that won them the game. No Grizzlies player scored more than 10 points.

Key Matchups:

Jeff Teague vs. Derrick Rose

Teague had his coming out party in the playoffs against the Bulls, when he scored 21 in games 1 & 3, the second of which was Atlanta’s only win of the series. Teague has proven his ability both as a scorer and a defender, but really, no one has had much luck with league MVP Derrick Rose. Rose is averaging 19.8 points per game this year, but is shooting 2.5% better from the field than last season; he is just taknig less shots. He has improved his three point marksmanship as well, as he is hitting a career high 38.1% from deep this year, not to mention 93.1% from the line so far. Rose should have his way with Teague, but Teague will make him work on the other end of the court, too, so don’t expect Rose to have his way all night.
