New York has dropped three of its last four games, including a 3-2 setback to Chicago as +142 road underdogs Thursday, while going UNDER the betting total for an eighth consecutive contest.  The Yankees are 3-5 in their last eight affairs decided two or fewer runs, as they’ll need first baseman Mark Teixeira to supply the big hit, who has 19 RBIs in his last 19 games.  New York is 3-7 in its last 10 overall meetings in this series.

Yankees starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda (3-3, 4.61 ERA) registered a 4-3 home win over the Pittsburgh Pirates last time out, as he gave up three runs and five hits over six innings of work.  The right-hander is 0-1 with a 2.79 ERA in three road efforts this season, with opposing hitters batting just .221 against him (.291 at home).  In five lifetime starts versus the White Sox, Kuroda has compiled a 2-2 record and 3.38 ERA.

Chicago has won three of its last four games, while the OVER is 7-3 in its last 10 contests overall.  The White Sox have won seven straight home games against the Bronx Bombers, as they attempt to win eight in a row in that situation for the first time since 1972-73.  Offensively, the team is second in the AL in runs scored, but that ranking may fall with first baseman Jose Abreu being on the 15-day disabled list.

White Sox starting pitcher Hector Noesi (0-4, 7.31 ERA) suffered a 6-5 setback on the road to the Houston Astros last time out, as he allowed six runs (five earned) and eight hits over six frames.  The right-hander is 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA in six games (two starts) at this venue, with opposing hitters batting .362 against him.  Noesi is 0-1 with a 3.97 ERA in two career starts versus the Yankees.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 9-0 in the White Sox’ last nine Friday games.
