Indianapolis has won and covered the spread in its last three games, which includes a 34-28 victory over the Seattle Seahawks as three-point home underdogs in Week 5, while going OVER the betting total for the first time in that span.  The Colts are 3-0 this year when owning the turnover ratio, which can’t be ignored when making your NFL expert picks Monday night.  Offensively, the team is averaging 142.0 rushing yards per game, which has allowed quarterback Andrew Luck to sit comfortably in the pocket.  He has completed 62.2 percent of his passes.  Indianapolis is 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS as favorites the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 7-3 in that situation.

The Colts have won 10 of their last 11 games decided by seven points or less, which is important to consider when looking over the NFL betting lines.  Since 2012, Indianapolis is 9-0 in games with 30-plus rushes—joining the Denver Broncos (9-0) and Cincinnati Bengals (7-0) as the only undefeated NFL teams when hitting that statistical mark.  The franchise ranks sixth in the league in scoring offense and fifth in scoring defense.

San Diego has alternated wins and losses over its first five games of the season, as it looks to bounce back from a 27-17 defeat to the Oakland Raiders as 5.5-point road favorites on Oct. 6.  The Chargers will want to establish the run, as the Colts rank 30th in the league in surrendering 129.0 yards per game.  Running back Ryan Mathews must get back on the field after leaving last week’s game with a concussion.  San Diego is 21-3 ATS versus AFC South opponents since 1992.

The Chargers held the Raiders to 299 yards last week, but they turned the ball over five times and couldn’t overcome a 17-point halftime deficit.  San Diego has won five of the last six meetings in this series, but will be facing a different type of roster in this affair, especially with Luck taking over for Peyton Manning.  Signal-caller Philip Rivers has tallied three 400-yard games thus far in 2013.

Sports bettors will likely back the Colts due to the road team being 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.
