Connecticut is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS through four games of the 2013-14 season, including a 77-60 victory over Boston as 14.5-point home favorites Sunday, while going UNDER the betting total for the third consecutive contest.  The Huskies are participating in a November tournament for the ninth consecutive season, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks, as it takes part in the 2K Sports Classic.  The program has an overall record of 57-52 in games played at Madison Square Garden.  Connecticut is 5-7-1 ATS when playing on a neutral floor since 2011.

The Huskies are one of the best three-point shooting teams in the country, as they’ve hit 52.6 percent of their shots from beyond the arc, while senior point guard Shabazz Napier continues to be the leader offensively.  He was a unanimous pick to the American Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference First Team.  Overall, the team has five players averaging in double figures, with Napier, Ryan Boatright, Omar Calhoun, Niels Giffey and DeAndre Daniels.

Boston College secured its first victory over the season last time out, as it picked up an 82-79 win over FAU as 17-point home favorites, while going OVER the betting total for a fourth consecutive time.  The Eagles are 35-54 all-time against the Huskies, but have won four of seven meetings when playing on a neutral floor.  Sophomore guard Olivier Hanlan has caught fire through four games this season, averaging 24.5 points after being named the 2012-13 ACC Freshman of the Year.  Boston College is 1-4 SUATS after scoring 80 points or more over the last two-plus seasons.

The Eagles are averaging 81.2 points per game, but they’ve struggled to stop opponents on the defensive end, as they’ve allowed teams to connect on 49.4 percent of their shots.  Boston College is also getting out-rebounded by 10.5 boards per game, which could be a problem against a physical foe in this matchup.  The team is shooting an ACC-best 83 percent from the charity stripe, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.

Sports bettors will likely back the Huskies due to their 8-2 ATS mark in their last 10 non-conference games.
