South Carolina wraps up its three-game SEC road trip with a stop in Columbia, Mo., as it looks to bounce back from a 23-21 setback to the Tennessee Volunteers as seven-point favorites last Saturday.  The Gamecocks will try to avoid losing back-to-back games for the second time since the end of the 2010 season, which is important to consider when making your college football betting picks in Week 9.  The program has won 15 of its last 18 contests against Eastern Division foes.  South Carolina is 8-5 SU and 6-7 ATS on the road the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 7-6 in that situation.

The Gamecocks are 11-5 in their last 16 true road contests, with four of the five losses coming against nationally-ranked opponents in that stretch.  South Carolina is averaging 471.9 yards per game of total offense, including 224.6 on the ground and 247.3 through the air.  It’s still important to point out that the school’s struggles may be directly related to the fact that it has the fewest seniors on its roster nationally.

Missouri enters its Homecoming matchup with a perfect 7-0 record for the first time since 2010, as it picked up a 36-17 victory over the Florida Gators as three-point home underdogs last Saturday.  The Tigers will aim to start 4-0 in conference play for the first time under 13-year head coach Gary Pinkel, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines.  The school’s nine Homecoming wins under Pinkel have come by an average of 26.4 points per game.  Missouri is 12-5 SU and 8-8-1 ATS at home since 2011, with the UNDER going 9-7 in those 16 opportunities.

The Tigers are now led by No. 2 quarterback Maty Mauk, who threw for 295 yards and a touchdown with an interception against the Gators.  Missouri became the first team to gain 500 or more yards against Florida since 2007.  Junior tailback Henry Josey is another piece of the puzzle offensively, as he’s averaging 83.3 rushing yards per game.

Sports bettors will likely back the Gamecocks due to the Tigers being 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games versus a team with a winning road record.
