The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have dominated the Duke Blue Devils

Duke had its four-game win streak to start the season snapped last time out, as it suffered a 22-10 defeat to the Miami Hurricanes as 3.5-point road underdogs on Sept. 27, while going UNDER the betting total for the third time in four contests.  Under head coach David Cutcliffe, the Blue Devils are 4-3 following a traditional open date, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 7 college football betting picks.  It’s important to point out that the program is 14-1 SU during regular season play with Anthony Boone under center as the starter.  Duke is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS as underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 4-3 in that situation.

The Blue Devils rank eighth nationally in allowing just 13.6 points per game, which is important to consider when looking over the college football odds page.  Duke has put together won of its most successful 15-game stretches in school history—posting a 12-3 SU record over that span.  The school will play its first game of the year against a ranked opponent, as it looks to improve upon its 25-133-6 mark in that role.

Georgia Tech is 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS through five games of the 2014 campaign, as it looks to build off a 28-17 victory over the Miami Hurricanes as 1.5-point home favorites last Saturday.  The Yellow Jackets have won their last 10 games against the Blue Devils, including a 38-14 triumph as 8.5-point road favorites last year, as they won the statistical battle by a sizable 469-254 margin.  Georgia Tech is 6-1 SUATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points since 2012, with the OVER going 4-3 in that situation.

The Yellow Jackets rank 11th nationally in averaging 297.2 yards per game on the ground, with Justin Thomas and Zach Laskey leading the way in gaining 6.0 and 5.0 yards per carry.  Georgia Tech’s winning streak is certainly impressive in this Atlantic Coast Conference series, especially since it has won those affairs by an average of 21.2 points.

Sports bettors will likely play the total due to the UNDER being 4-1-1 in the last six meetings in this series.
