Both the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Christian Horned Frogs are 9-1 overall and 6-1 in Big 12 play as they play Saturday in Norman. Both teams are behind 7-0 Oklahoma State in the Big 12 standings. The Cowboys host Baylor Saturday. The Bears are 5-1 in conference.

Oklahoma leads the series 9-5 against TCU, but the Horned Frogs are 4-3 all-time in Norman. TCU won last year in Fort Worth 37-33.

TCU is coached by Gary Patterson. The Horned Frogs have road wins over Minnesota 23-17, Texas Tech 55-52, Kansas State 52-45 and Iowa State 45-21. TCU has home wins over Stephen F. Austin 70-7, SMU 56-37, Texas 50-7 and West Virginia 40-10 and Kansas 23-17 last week. TCU lost at Oklahoma State 49-29.

TCU was a 46.5 point favorite against winless Kansas last week and the total was 71. The Horned Frogs jumped out to an early 10-0 lead that included a 49 yard punt return for a touchdown. TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin injured his ankle in the first quarter and would not return. Kansas would tie it up by halftime. TCU scored the first 13 points of the second half. Kansas scored with just over six minutes left to pull within 23-17. The Jayhawks had three more possessions but were unable to score. TCU had 487 total yards but couldn’t score many points. TCU is 4-6 ATS and the total is 5-5 this season.

Oklahoma is coached by Bob Stoops. The Sooners have home wins over Akron 41-3, Tulsa 52-38, West Virginia 44-24, Texas Tech 63-27, and Iowa State 52-16, along with road wins at Tennessee 31-24 in double overtime, Kansas State 55-0, Kansas 62-7 and Baylor 44-34 last week. Oklahoma has won five straight games  since a 24-17 loss against Texas in Dallas.

Oklahoma was a 1.5 point underdog at Baylor and the total was 76. There was heavy rain for most of the game. Both teams missed extra points in the first half. Oklahoma would take a 20-13 lead into halftime. The Bears tied it up early in the third, but Oklahoma scored 14 straight points and would never trail again. Baylor pulled to within 37-34 with just over 10 minutes left. Oklahoma scored again to go up 44-34 with 4:47 left. The Sooners had 511 total yards to 416 for Baylor. The Bears had three turnovers to one for the Sooners. Oklahoma is 8-2 ATS and the total is 7-3 this season.

TCU is outscoring teams 44-26 this season. The Horned Frogs are #4 in scoring nationally. TCU averages 608 yards per game, including 377 passing and 231 rushing yards. The Horned Frogs are in the top 5 nationally in total and passing offense, and #15 in rushing. On defense, TCU is allowing 389 yards per game, including 230 passing and 159 rushing yards. The Horned Frogs have forced 12 turnovers and have 12 of their own. TCU averages 76 penalty yards per game and opponents average 52 per game. He will not start against Oklahoma, but could play in an emergency.  Back-up Bram Kohlhausen has thrown for 247 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Foster Sawyer could see some snaps. He threw a touchdown last week against Kansas on his only snap of the game.

Running back Aaron Green has 179 carries for 973 yards and 9 touchdowns, plus 12 catches and a touchdown. Trevorris Johnson has 41 carries for 254 yards. Kyle Hicks has 39 carries for 197 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Receiver Josh Doctson has 79 catches for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is out for the season with shoulder and wrist injuries.  KaVontae Turpin has 36 catches for 483 yards and 6 touchdowns. Kolby Listenbee has 24 catches for 495 yards and 4 touchdowns. Desmon White has 19 catches for 258 yards.  Shaun Nixon has 31 catches for 401 yards and a touchdowns. Ty Slanina has 11 catches for 134 yards, but is out for the season with a broken collarbone. Three defensive players are listed as questionable or out.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield has completed 70.2% of his passes for 3,082 yards with 31 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, and has rushed for 301 yards with 6 touchdowns on 110 carries. He is a Heisman Trophy contender.  Back-up Trevor Knight has thrown for 229 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and has 50 rushing yards with a touchdown.

Running back Samaje Perine has 168 carries for 972 yards and 12 touchdowns, along with 11 catches and a touchdown. Joe Mixon has 86 carries for 526 yards and 5 touchdowns, along with 24 catches for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns. Alex Ross and Daniel Brooks will also get some carries.

Receiver Sterling Shepard has 61 catches for 1,003 yards and 9 touchdowns. Dede Westbrook has 40 catches for 612 yards and 3 touchdowns. Durron Neal has 40 catches for 498 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mark Andrews has 16 catches for 271 yards and 6 touchdowns. Jarvis Baxter has 14 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown. Dimitri Flowers has 7 catches and 3 touchdowns.

TCU is 7-1 ATS after gaining more than 450 total yards, 13-3 on grass, 6-2 after failing to cover, 14-6 after a straight up win, 9-4 against teams with winning records, 17-8 overall, 2-5 after rushing for more than 200 yards, 1-4 in road games and after allowing less than 20 points, and 1-5 against teams with winning home records. TCU will not only be without Boykin and Doctson, but could be without three starters on the offensive line. Oklahoma has been one of the top teams in the country since an inexplicable loss to Texas. The Sooners win this game handily against a short handed TCU team.
