The No. 17 UCF Knights have been a positive success story to this season and the team will look to maintain its winning ways as it hosts Rutgers in a game college football oddsmakers at Bovada favor the Knights by 18-points.

Last week, the Knights narrowly escaped from winless Temple as J.J. Worton made an amazing TD catch with 1:06 to go to tie the game, and a Shawn Moffitt field goal clinched it for UCF as time expired. The team leads the conference with a 5-0 AAC record, as Cincinnati and Louisville both have losses at 5-1. UCF defeated Louisville 38-35 on Oct 18 to earn its national ranking.

Blake Bortles did another sensational job at QB last week for the Knights, throwing for a career best 401 yards. Storm Johnson had 122 yards on 14 carries, and he’s been a strong featured back for the squad all season.

The Knights have a heavily pass reliant offense, but Johnson does a good job of breaking it up and keeps the team competitive on the ground with 170.3 yards per game. The offense overall generates 35.2 points per game and the defense has been tough, allowing just 20.6 points per contest.

Rutgers lost badly to conference powerhouse Cincinnati last week, 52-17, but the Knights can’t take this team lightly since it had so many problems with Temple. The Scarlet Knights have also defeated SMU this season and their pass attack is relatively dangerous, generating 253.8 yards per game. Gary Nova has thrown for over 2,000 yards on the season and Paul James averages 6.7 yards per carry on 97 carries this season.

Rutgers Trends: UNDER 4-0 in last 4 road games vs team with winning home records; 0-4 ATS in last 4 in NOV; UNDER 4-0 in last 4 after allowing more than 40 points in previous game.
