The Baylor Bears have dropped back-to-back games heading into Monday night's contest

Iowa travels to nationally-ranked Baylor in a battle between third-place teams in the Big 12 Conference, while also looking to snap a five game losing streak in this series when playing in Waco.  “Their length is ridiculous,” commented Cyclones head coach Fred Hoiberg about playing Monday’s opponent.  The team has managed to cover four of the last five overall meetings, but dropped a 84-63 decision in its last trip to the Ferrell Center as 11.5-point underdogs on Feb. 3, 2010.  Iowa State is 6-2 ATS as an underdog this year, while the “under” is 5-4 in that situation.

The Cyclones lead all Big 12 teams and are tied for seventh nationally in averaging 8.9 3-pointers made per game.  Iowa State is the only team in college basketball with four or more players with 40 3-pointers.  Two starters are currently averaging in double figures, with sophomore forward Royce White leading the way in scoring 13.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.  Senior guard Chris Allen is the other, as he’s really come on of late, knocking down 11-of-18 shots from 3-point range in the past two games.

Baylor will look to snap a two-game losing streak after dropping contests to the Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers, while also failing to cover the spread in five straight contests.  The Bears tallied an impressive 77-65 win over the Oklahoma Sooners as 5.5-point road favorites on Jan. 24 to snap their only other losing streak this year.  Since the start of the 2007-08 campaign, the program is a dominating 67-15 inside this venue, including a 41-6 mark in the last three seasons.  Baylor is 4-8 ATS as a favorite this year.

The Bears are 8-12 all-time in this series with the Cyclones and will be ranked when doing so for just the second time on Monday night.  Sophomore forward Perry Jones III needs to break out of a recent shooting slump, scoring just nine points and hitting 3-of-20 shots in the back-to-back losses.  He comes in averaging 13.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Bettors will likely back the Cyclones due to their 5-0-1 ATS mark in their last six road games, while the Bears are 0-6 ATS when playing on Monday.
