The UNLV Runnin' Rebels are just 6-6 SU in true road games this year

UNLV is currently in a three-way tie for first place in the Mountain West Conference and has won two straight games that includes a 68-58 win over the Air Force Falcons as 17-point home favorites.  The Runnin’ Rebels have been dominating opponents at home, posting a 17-0 mark inside the Thomas & Mack Center, but they come in with a 6-6 record in true road games.  “We haven’t played well on the road,” commented Runnin’ Rebels guard Chace Stanback.  “It’s a challenge we’ll have to live up to.”  UNLV is 1-9 ATS on the road this year.

The Runnin’ Rebels are 33-9 all-time against the Colorado State Rams, including a 14-5 mark when playing in Fort Collins.  UNLV has won two straight games at Moby Arena and six of the last seven inside the venue.  Three players are currently averaging double figures in scoring, with Mike Moser leading the way in scoring 14.2 points per game.  The program is outscoring opponents by an average of 12.0 points per game and shooting 46.8 percent from the field for the year.

Colorado State is set to close out its regular-season home schedule Wednesday night, as it will play a third straight conference game against a ranked opponent.  The Rams are 13-1 at home this season, winning 12 straight home games, which is tied for the 14th longest streak in college basketball.  The team is 2-0 at home against ranked opponents this season, but has never won three games against ranked opponents in the same season in program history.  Colorado State is 14-5 ATS when revenging a road loss versus an opponent the last two-plus years.

The Rams are one of the more efficient offensive teams in the country, leading the Mountain West in shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 76.7 percent from the free throw line.  Colorado State is led by the play of junior guard Wes Elkmeier, who is the second-leading scorer in the conference in averaging 15.9 points per game.  A win in this contest would complete an undefeated home record in conference play for just the third time in program history.

Bettors will likely back the Runnin’ Rebels due to their 18-8 ATS mark as a road favorite of 6.5 points or less, while the Rams are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings.
