Big Ben and the Steelers are 2/2.5 point road favorites.
All eyes will be on the quarterbacks in Sunday’s nationally televised preseason matchup between the Denver Broncos (0-2) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) at Investco Field at Mile High.  However, one of them is still expected to be held out one more game as his Broncos host the Steelers as 2-point underdogs.  Be sure to shop around though via our live NFL odds page as this game has been seen anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 depending on the sportsbook.

The Carolina Panthers have had an awful preseason. In their first two games the Panthers have not been able to score an offensive touchdown. First-string, second-string, third-string, whatever-string – no offensive touchdowns in two games. Not good. The lone Panther touchdown came on a 31 yard fumble return by C.J. Wilson in week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. Then John Kasay missed the PAT. It has been that kind of preseason for the Panthers.

San Francisco 49ers FootballSaturday night is the annual NFL preseason Battle of the Bay with the Oakland Raiders hosting the San Francisco 49ers. The two teams have been impressive in preseason play. The Raiders went into Dallas in week 1 and came away with a 17-9 victory, and then took care of the Bears in Chicago, 32-17. San Fran also sports a 2-0 record having beaten the Colts in Indy, 37-17, and the Vikings at home, 15-10. With bragging rights on the line, this promises to be an entertaining contest.

The battle of unbeatens by the Bay will take place on Saturday when the San Francisco 49ers (2-0) visit the Oakland Raiders (2-0).  Both teams have covered their last three games dating back to last season and are hoping to parlay a winning preseason into a successful regular season.  The Raiders opened at -2.5 by the NFL odds makers but have since been bet down to -1 against the 49ers.

The Dallas Cowboys (2-1) and Houston Texans (0-2) meet in the preseason for the sixth time in the last seven years and will later meet in the regular season for only the second time during that stretch.  The teams have never played each other twice in the same year, but the Texans will host the rematch again on September 26th after Dallas visits Houston as 3-point underdogs on pro football lines for Saturday.

The Ravens are 4 point home favorites over the Giants today.
The New York Giants (1-1) will have starting quarterback Eli Manning back on Saturday for their matchup with the unbeaten Baltimore Ravens (2-0) after he missed the previous game due to a head injury.  The Giants could definitely use him following a 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week in which backup Rhett Bomar played the entire game.  The Ravens have covered both of their preseason games so far and enter this contest as solid favorites at -4 on the current NFL odds.

The line was already adjusted for me being out, now we are starting to see some value as the public continues to pile on
The New York Jets and Washington Redskins have gotten as much press as any other NFL teams leading up to the regular season. Between HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ and Darrelle Revis’ contract issues, Jets head coach Rex Ryan and company have built on the publicity that began with last year’s postseason march to the AFC title game. The Washington Redskins have similarly seen an excessive amount of attention. Mike Shanahan has taken over as head coach and executive vice president. Donovan McNabb bolted from the city of brotherly love to the nation’s capital. And Albert Haynesworth’s conditioning and medical issues have been hot topics for sports writers.

The Atlanta Falcons travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins in NFL preseason action Friday night. The Dolphins opened as 2 ½ point favorites, but our NFL betting page indicates that the line has come down to a pick at most sites, with a few listing the home Dolphins as 1 point favorites.

New York Jets Football
Mark Sanchez and the Jets are 5.5 point favorites tonight over the Redskins
The Washington Redskins (1-1) will be without starting quarterback Donovan McNabb due to a sprained ankle when they visit the New York Jets (1-1) meet on Friday.  Instead, veteran backup QB Rex Grossman gets the nod against Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s defense sans All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis for another week.  New York is favored at -4.5 on the NFL point spreads against Washington in what could be another low-scoring game for both teams (the total is set at 34).
