The Patriots are 7-7.5 home point favorites tonight against the Bills depending where you shop
The New England Patriots (2-0) will get their chance to introduce rookie quarterback Sam Bradford into the NFL when he makes his first pro start for the St. Louis Rams (1-1) on Thursday.  The Rams had started veteran A.J. Feeley at QB in their first two games, but he is out with a thumb injury.  Since Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a defensive guru who knows how to attack the opposition, his team is favored by more than a touchdown at -7.5 at most sportsbooks.  Preseason lines do move quick and with a lot less money than regular season nfl games so be sure to view our NFL betting odds page to compare the current lines at the sportsbooks.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were about as average as a team can be in the NFL last year, although that was disappointing for them.  The Jaguars were hoping to be contenders again in the AFC South and instead finished in the division’s basement for the second year in a row at 7-9, which followed an even worse 5-11 campaign in 2008.  Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew complained about a lack of respect for his team in the offseason, but playing the Indianapolis Colts tough in two meetings just will not cut it anymore.  Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio is definitely on the hot seat going into this season and will need much more than Jones-Drew to turn things around.  Jacksonville saw seven of their eight home games blacked out a year ago due to poor attendance and might be headed elsewhere if the team continues to underachieve.

The Tennessee Titans finished last season strong following a disappointing 0-6 start and hope they can pick up where they left off en route to a playoff appearance this year.  The Titans were a completely different team after their bye week in 2009, winning five straight and seven of eight with a more mature Vince Young under center.   Tennessee head coach Jeff Fisher wants that same Young directing his squad in 2010 because All-Pro running back Chris Johnson will have a very difficult time duplicating his magnificent 2,006-yard season of a year ago.  Keeping Johnson healthy will be critical to the team’s success, so Fisher will rely on Young and a host of reserves in the offensive backfield to help lighten the load.  The NFL did not do the Titans any favors either, as they have the second-hardest schedule in the league this season.

The Cleveland Browns are not the biggest story in town after NBA star LeBron James left the Cavaliers for Miami in the offseason.  But they too will have a much different look this season under second-year head coach Eric Mangini and with Team President Mike Holmgren now on board.  Gone are former quarterbacks Derek Anderson (Arizona) and Brady Quinn (Denver) in favor of veterans Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace along with rookie Colt McCoy.  Cleveland also brought in TE Benjamin Watson and WR Bobby Engram to help stabilize a young receiving corps that is led by Chansi Stuckey, Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi.  Delhomme is expected to be the starter for the regular-season opener and will not have a receiver like he did in Carolina with Steve Smith, but he will need to play a key role in developing the youngsters.

Brett Favre Makes His Preseason Debut tonight
Now that the drama is finally over for the Minnesota Vikings (1-0) after QB Brett Favre reported to training camp earlier this week following yet another premature retirement announcement, they can now focus on getting ready for the 2010 regular-season opener at New Orleans and keeping their players as healthy as possible.  Favre is expected to play on Sunday and start against the San Francisco 49ers (1-0), who are small home favorites on the nfl betting odds at -3.

Two teams who are among the favorites to meet in Dallas for Super Bowl XLV square off here when the Cowboys (1-1) visit the San Diego Chargers (1-0) on Saturday.  Both teams fell short of expectations last year when they each lost in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but they have not lost focus with their sights set on a much bigger prize this season.

For the second consecutive week, the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints (0-1) held joint practices with their opponent leading up to their preseason game.  The Saints hope that will not work against them again when they face the Houston Texans (0-1) in the preseason for the third year in a row on Saturday.  New Orleans is a small favorite at -1 after losing to the New England Patriots 27-24 last week following a similar routine of joint practices.
