The Golden State Warriors were 10-point favorites in Game 1, and while the team emerged with a SU victory, it failed to cover the spread, winning 110-106. The NBA live odds for Game 2 are the exact same, with the Warriors 10-point favorites again. Over/under total is 219, and for an explanation of how to bet these odds, see our NBA odds explained.

This series was billed as a showdown between the two-leading candidates for the MVP award: its winner Stephen Curry and James Harden. While the Rockets may have lost, it received a monster game from its star player. Harden finished with 28 points (11-of-20 field goals), with nine assists and 11 rebounds. Surprisingly, Harden shot just six free throws in the game, and the Rockets struggled at the line, hitting just 18-of-28 as a team (64 percent). Houston also turned it over 15 times.

The Rockets did own a plus-4 advantage on the boards, despite Dwight Howard being limited to 26 minutes due to injury. Even in that short span, Dwight had 13 boards, four of which came on the offensive end.

Clint Capela took the attention of the nation in relief, hitting all four of his field goals and finishing with nine points, four rebounds, a block and a steal in 13 minutes of play.

The Rockets also got solid play from Pablo Prigioni, who brought a lot of stability and defense, despite scoring just four points and dishing four assists. Pablo did not turn the ball over, which was some needed stability given that all 15 Rockets turnovers came from its starting lineup.

The story of the game for the Warriors was none other than Steph Curry again. The MVP scored 34 points on 13-of-22 shooting (including six made threes), while dishing out five assists and grabbing six rebounds. Klay Thompson didn’t fare nearly as well, going just 6-of-18 from the floor and missing six of his seven three-pointers. Thompson was one of only two Warriors starters to finish with a negative differential (-2).

The Warriors were pleased to get such great play from Shaun Livingston off the bench. The veteran scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished three assists in 29 minutes of play. It helped off-set Thompson’s poor night, while forwards Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green combined to score 27 points on 12-of-25 shooting.

Green had a great all around game, with 12 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks/steals in his game-high 43 minutes of play. Green will be looking for a max-contract this summer, and games like this make it easier for GMs to consider dealing that kind of money out to Green.
