Two teams who are among the favorites to meet in Dallas for Super Bowl XLV square off here when the Cowboys (1-1) visit the San Diego Chargers (1-0) on Saturday.  Both teams fell short of expectations last year when they each lost in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but they have not lost focus with their sights set on a much bigger prize this season.

For the second consecutive week, the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints (0-1) held joint practices with their opponent leading up to their preseason game.  The Saints hope that will not work against them again when they face the Houston Texans (0-1) in the preseason for the third year in a row on Saturday.  New Orleans is a small favorite at -1 after losing to the New England Patriots 27-24 last week following a similar routine of joint practices.

Atlanta heads into tonights contest as a 2.5 point home favorite
The New England Patriots (1-0) and Atlanta Falcons (1-0) meet in the Georgia Dome after both teams turned in solid performances in their preseason openers last week.  The Falcons did not manage a touchdown by their starters in a game that featured five field-goal attempts on the first eight drives – including four straight misses from 50 yards or longer – but they did play well defensively and escaped without any major injuries in a 20-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

49ers vs Colts Preseason Betting Preview
The 49ers are 3 point road favorites today, only the second team this week to be listed as a road fav by the NFL football betting oddsmakers.
The poor preseason record of the Indianapolis Colts over the last decade has made oddsmakers take notice and downgrade them significantly from how they would perform in the same situation during the regular season.  That is the easy explanation for why the Colts are home underdogs at +3 on the NFL betting odds against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
