The Los Angeles Clippers have lost 13 of their last 14 games against the Phoenix Suns

Phoenix had its two-game win streak snapped in last night’s 107-100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs as 1.5-point home underdogs.  The Suns have won 13 of their last 19 games, but still sit in 10th place in the Western Conference standings.  The team will be out on the road for just one game in heading to the Staples Center, as it returns to host New Orleans on Sunday.  It’s important to note that the franchise has won four straight in this series, including a 91-87 victory as nine-point road underdogs on March 15.  Phoenix is 12-4 ATS in March and the “under” is 9-7 in that situation.

The Suns will meet the Los Angeles Clippers for the third time since the NBA All-Star break, as they’ve won 13 of the last 14 games in the series.  Phoenix has won 11 games in a single month for the first time since March 2010, as it has captured 11 of 16 games since the break.  Point guard Steve Nash is still the engine on the offensive end, leading the NBA in averaging 11.2 assists per game.  He is averaging 13.0 points per game and will look to get the ball into the hands of center Marcin Gortat, who leads the team in scoring 16.0 points a night.

Los Angeles has won its last two games by a double-digit margin that includes a 97-85 win over the New Orleans Hornets as 9.5-point home favorites on Monday night.  “We’re playing for a lot right now,” commented Clippers point guard Chris Paul.  He has scored just 26 combined points in two meetings with the Suns this year, but is coming off a 25-point performance against his former team.  Power forward Blake Griffin continues to lead the team in scoring 20.8 points and grabbing 10.8 rebounds per game.  Los Angeles is 15-15 ATS as a favorite this year.

The Clippers are 17-8 overall at home this season, including a 10-6 mark versus Western Conference opponents.  Los Angeles has three more games on the schedule this month, as it will be the first team in 45 years to play 20 games in the month of March.  With Paul in the lineup, the franchise ranks second in the NBA with 13.5 turnovers per game.

Bettors will likely back the Suns due to their 5-1 ATS mark on zero days rest, while the Clippers are 2-8 ATS as a favorite of 5.0 to 10.5 points.
