Giants vs. Cowboys NFC East Betting Preview
Eli Manning and the Giants need to win Sunday night in order to avoid falling two games behind the Cowboys.

The NFC East is up for grabs between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, who can each stake their claim for the division title on Sunday Night Football.  The Giants (6-6) will be trying to snap a four-game losing streak and play the Cowboys (7-5) twice in the last four weeks.

Dallas (-4.5, O/U 50.5) saw its four-game winning streak end last week in a 19-13 overtime loss at Arizona in which head coach Jason Garrett seemed to freeze his own kicker at the end of regulation.  Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey was set to attempt the game-winning field goal from 49 yards out with two seconds left and actually made it, but Garrett called timeout and Bailey proceeded to miss his next attempt.

Still, the Cowboys control their own destiny and can take a two-game lead in the division with a win over New York.  They play two of their last three games on the road, including a trip to MetLife Stadium in the season finale.  Despite their winning streak, they have gone 1-5 against the spread in their last six games with the only cover coming in a 44-7 rout of Buffalo in Week 10.

The Giants had gone 1-5-1 ATS in their previous seven games before nearly handing Green Bay its first loss of the season but covering the 7-point line last week in a 38-35 loss.  They tied the Packers at 35-35 with a touchdown and two-point conversion with just under one minute remaining but saw Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers march down the field and put kicker Mason Crosby in position to make the game-winning field goal as time expired.

New York QB Eli Manning has thrown for 250 yards or more in the team’s last 10 games, and he had 347 yards with three touchdowns and one interception against the Packers.  Manning has thrown at least one interception in five straight games while Dallas counterpart Tony Romo has just two picks in his past five game combined.

Romo’s ability to limit his turnovers lately has been one of the main reasons behind the recent success of the Cowboys.  He threw six interceptions in their first five games, with the team winning just twice.  In the first meeting with the Giants last year, Romo suffered a fractured left clavicle that ended his season when he was driven to the ground by New York linebacker Michael Boley.

The key to this game could very well be whether or not the Giants can continue to put pressure on Romo and force him into mistakes.  Manning threw five picks in splitting two meetings with Dallas last year, and his team is 3-1 straight-up and ATS in the past four games between the teams with the OVER cashing each time.
