Sacramento Kings Player Prop Bets

Tyreke Evans is going to get better, the question is, "how much better next year?"
The Sacramento Kings have a wealth of young talent, and recently signaled a change in philosophy by dealing Kevin Martin for Carl Landry. This move solidified their committment to Tyreke Evans as the cornerstone of their franchise. They were fortunate enough to land DeMarcus Cousins this offseason in the draft, who promises to be a significant part of the franchise for years to come. While Sacramento may not make the playoffs this year, they promise to be an improved team and should be a fun one to watch, as Evans and Cousins grow together to form part of the Kings’ new nucleus.  Here are some player prop bets from Bodog Sportsbook.

Tyreke Evans Over/Under 21.3 ppg
Too close to call. While Tyreke did manage 20.1 last year – as a rookie – you have to wonder where the improvement is going to come from. I’m not suggesting he has reached his full potential, but he did play 37 minutes a game last year, and it is dubious as to whether he could actually see an increase in minutes this year. Moreover, with the offense running through Cousins sometimes, it is difficult to project how this will affect ‘Reke. I think 21.3 sounds about right, so calling an over/under on this one is too difficult to do.

Tyreke Evans Over/Under 6.0 apg
I hate to say it, but again this one is too tough to call. It’s a modest improvement over last year’s 5.6 apg, but that is about what you would expect with him going into his sophomore campaign

Carl Landry Over/Under 16.7 ppg
Under. With DeMarcus Cousins, Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson, and Hassan Whiteside, the Kings have a crowded and talented frontcourt. And there’s only so many minutes to go around. The depth chart on Yahoo! shows Landry as a reserve, and even in a sixth man role, it is pretty hard to imagine him averaging 18.0 ppg as he did for his time in Sacto last year.

DeMarcus Cousins Over/Under 13.3 ppg
Over. From what we have seen in the preseason, the offense is going to be run through Cousins a lot, and he is going to get a lot of opportunities to score. I see him averaging about 15 ppg, making this a clear cut ‘over.’

DeMarcus Cousins Over/Under 7.3 rpg
Over. Cousins has a big body and is able to box out well, which bodes well for NBA rebounders. He has the ability and size to average 10 rebounds a game; and while I’m not suggesting that he necessarily will reach those types of numbers this year, he will certainly be in the 8.5-9.5 range this year.
