Chicago Bulls F Carlos Boozer averaged 23.3 points and 11.3 rebounds versus the Orlando Magic last year

Orlando is set to play its first road game of the 2012 NBA season after picking up back-to-back home victories over the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.  “There’s no All-Stars here,” commented Magic forward Glen Davis.  He is averaging 25.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories now that Dwight Howard has departed, as he is now playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.  Orlando is 1-5 ATS as a road underdog of 9.5 to 12 points the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 4-2 in that situation.

The Magic have won eight of their last 11 meetings with the Bulls in the Windy City, which includes a 99-94 victory as six-point road underdogs on March 8 last season.  Orlando’s best start to begin a regular season is 3-0, which it has achieved three times, with the last coming during the 2009-10 campaign.  The team was 16-17 last year away from the Amway Center, as it failed to finish above .500 on the road for the first time since 2007.

Chicago ended up on the losing end of an 89-82 decision to the New Orleans Hornets as 9.5-point home favorites on Saturday, while going UNDER the posted total of 181.5.  “Tough day at the office,” commented Bulls center Joakim Noah.  The Bulls are going to be one of the best defensive teams in the league, as they are holding opponents to just 87.3 points per game, but will be missing some offensive punch until star point guard Derrick Rose recovers from his injury of a year ago.  Chicago is 23-9 ATS off an upset loss as a favorite over the last two-plus seasons.

The Bulls won two of three games against the Magic last year, outscoring them by an average of 11.7 points in those contests.  Chicago will lean on power forward Carlos Boozer on the offensive end, as he averaged 23.3 points and 11.3 rebounds, but he’s scoring just 13.7 points a game this season.  Tonight’s game is the second game of the franchise’s season-high five-game homestand.

Sports bettors will likely back the Magic due to their 13-5 ATS mark versus Central opponents, while the Bulls are 0-5-1 ATS when playing on two days rest.
