The Miami Dolphins fell 12-10 to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. Ryan Tannehill passed 16 of 29 for 186 yards, but he was sacked five times for a loss of 36 yards and threw no TD passes. Tannehill rushed five times for 17 yards, but the Dolphins managed just 64 rushing yards, mostly by Arian Foster who had 38 yards on 13 carries (just 2.9 yards per attempt). Foster did lead the team in receiving yards, too, though with three catches for 62 yards, including a long of 50-yards.

Jarvis Landry led the team in catches (seven) while racking up 59 yards. The Dolphins completed 16 passes for 186 yards, averaging 11.6 yards per completion. The Dolphins fumbled twice, and the team did recover a fumble and Isa Abdul-Quddus had an interception as well.

Jakeem Grant did a great job on his two kick returns, averaging 33.5 yards with a long of 45-yards, and he also returned three punts for 16 yards total. Landry returned one for 16-yards. Matt Darr did a good job punting, averaging 46.7 yards per punt on seven attempts and landing three pinned inside the 20, with a long of 57-yards.

New England defeated Arizona 23-21 in Week 1. The game had a national audience on a Twitter stream, as Jimmy Garrappolo came up big with a 24 of 33 passing performance for 264 yards and a TD. He was sacked twice for a loss of seven yards, but did not throw an interception and finished with a passer rating of 106.1. Julian Edelman led the team in receiving yards with 66 on seven catches, getting all seven targeted to him.

Four other Pats had three catches or more, and Chris Hogan had a 37-yard reception as well as a TD in amassing 60 yards on his three catches. Garoppolo did fumble twice as did LeGarrette Blount, but Blount led the ground effort with 70 yards on 22 carries and a TD. Edelman rushed three times for 16 yards and Garoppolo had 12 yards on four attempts.

Cyrus Jones returned one kick for 26 yards and a punt for 10 yards, and Danny Amendola had one punt return for eight yards. Stephen Gostowski hit 3 of 3 FGA with a long of 53-yards and hit both his extra points to finish with 11 on the game. Ryan Allen punted twice for 89 total yards with a long of 45-yards.
