Cowboys Saints NFL Preview
New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees is on pace to break Dan Marino's single-season passing yards record

New Orleans enters Week 14 with a two-game lead in the NFC South standings over the Atlanta Falcon and will begin a two-game road trip against the Tennessee Titans Sunday.  The Saints are brimming with confidence and have won four consecutive games, including a 31-17 win over the Detroit Lions as nine-point home favorites last week.  “We feel like we’re one of the elite teams,” commented Saints wide receiver Lance Moore.  “We have to worry about what we’re doing.”  Possessing the league’s No. 1 offense that averages 448.7 yards per game is a good start.  New Orleans is 0-2 ATS as a road favorite of 3.5 to 7 points this year.

The Saints are led offensively by the play of quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 4,031 passing yards, becoming the first NFL signal-caller to go over the 4,000-yard mark in the first 12 games of the season.  New Orleans is currently on pace to put up a single-season NFL record of 7,179 total yards.  Sunday’s contest will be the 13th regular-season meeting, with the Saints looking to snap a four-game losing streak in the series, which includes a 31-14 loss as 4.5-point home favorites on Sept. 24, 2007.

Tennessee begins the final quarter of the regular season against a tough opponent, coming off a pair of 23-17 victories over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills.  The Titans have also covered their last four games, while the ‘under’ has cashed in six consecutive contests that they’ve been involved in.  “They want to play fast break,” commented Titans safety Chris Hope in practice this week about the Saints offense.  Fans inside LP Field will get to watch an entertaining game with two teams still alive in the playoff hunt.  Tennessee is 38-16 ATS when playing NFC opponents.

The Titans have been very pleased with the recent play of star running back Chris Johnson, eclipsing the century mark in rushing yards in three of the past four weeks.  His two-week total of 343 rushing yards is the third-highest of his four-year career.  Tennessee is one of four 7-5 teams that are still aiming for a potential wild card spot, while also being just two games behind the Houston Texans in the AFC South divisional race.

Bettors will likely back the Saints due to their 18-7-1 ATS mark versus winning teams, while the Titans are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games versus opponents with a winning road record.
