The Seahawks host the Eagles in a battle of NFC playoff contenders.

The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles have won nine straight games and have the best record in the NFL. The Eagles can clinch the NFC East with a win Sunday night at the 7-4 Seattle Seahawks. Seattle is a game behind the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West. The Seahawks are tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the last wild card spot in the NFC.

Seattle leads the series 8-7 against Philadelphia. The Seahawks have won five of the last six games against the Eagles including three straight. The Seahawks won last year in Seattle against the Eagles 26-15.

Philadelphia is coached by Doug Pederson. The Eagles have a road loss at the Kansas City Chiefs 27-20. The Eagles have  road wins at the Washington Redskins 30-17, Los Angeles Chargers 26-24, Carolina Panthers 28-23 and Dallas Cowboys 37-9, plus home wins over the New York Giants 27-24, Arizona Cardinals 34-7, Redskins 34-24, San Francisco 49ers 33-10, Denver Broncos 51-23 and Chicago Bears 31-3 last week.  Against the Bears, Philadelphia was a  14 point favorite and the total was 43.5. Seattle is coached by Pete Carroll. The Seahawks have road losses at the Green Bay Packers 17-9 and at the Tennessee Titans 33-27, plus home losses to the Washington Redskins 17-14 and Atlanta Falcons 34-31. Seattle has home wins over the San Francisco 49ers 12-9, Indianapolis Colts 46-18 and Houston Texans 41-38 , plus road wins at the Los Angeles Rams 16-10, New York Giants 24-7, Arizona Cardinals 22-16 and 49ers 24-13 last week. Against San Francisco, the Seahawks were 7 point favorites and the total was 45. Seattle is 4-6-1 ATS and the total is 4-7 this season.

Wendell Smallwood has 43 carries for 168 yards and a touchdown, plus 10 catches for 79 yards.  Darren Sproles has 15 carries for 61 yards, plus 7 catches for 61 yards. He is out for the season with a torn ACL. Donnel Pumphrey is also out for the season with a hamstring injury

Tight end Zach Ertz has 55 catches for 639 yards and 7 touchdowns. Receiver  Alshon Jeffrey has 43 catches for 619 yards and 7 touchdowns. He is probable with a foot injury. Nelson Agholor has 33 catches for 458 yards and 6 touchdowns. Torrey Smith has 22 catches for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nine defensive players, including five players in the secondary, are listed on the injury report. Kicker Caleb Sturgis is out indefeinitely with a quad injury.

Seattle is outscoring teams 24-19 this season. Seattle is #10 in scoring and #9 in points allowed. The Seahawks average 363 yards per game on offense including 260 passing and 103 rushing yards. C.J. Prosise, Thomas Rawls and J.D. McKissic will also get some carries. McKissic has 22 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown. Prosise has 6 catches for 87 yards, but is out with an ankle injury.

Receiver Doug Baldwin has 58 catches for 698 yards and 4 touchdowns. Paul Richardson has 35 catches for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns. Tyler Lockett has 33 catches for 408 yards.  Tight end Jimmy Graham has 49 catches for 447 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is probable with an ankle injury. Tight end Luke Wilson has 11 catches for 106 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is questionable with a concussion.  Fifteen defensive players and five offensive linemen are listed on the injury report.

The road team is 7-2 ATS in this series as is the favorite. The Seahawks are 5-1 ATS against the Eagles recently.

The Eagles are the hottest team in football, but the Seahawks are desperate for a win. Seattle has no running game other than Wilson. Seattle also has a ton of injuries on the vaunted defense. Still, I like the Seahawks to pull off the upset at home in front of the 12th Man.
