Seahawks Saints NFL Preview
The New Orleans Saints haven’t enjoyed much success on the road this season

New Orleans snapped a two-game losing streak by finishing the regular season by picking up a 42-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 11-point home favorites, while going OVER the betting total for the first time in seven contests.  The Saints are led by the play of quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 5,162 yards and 39 touchdowns, which is important to consider when making your NFL betting picks.  The team struggled away from home offensively, as it averaged 17.8 points per game in dropping five of eight road contests.  New Orleans is 1-3 SUATS as underdogs this season.

The Saints are going to have a difficult time being balanced in this matchup, as the Eagles allowed opponents to gain just 3.77 yards per carry.  Brees will likely target tight end Jimmy Graham at critical moments, as he caught 86 passes for 1,215 yards and an NFL-best 16 touchdowns.  New Orleans has a 11-15 SU regular season record against Philadelphia, while the two NFC foes have split a pair of playoff games.

Philadelphia secured its first NFC East title since 2010, with former Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly turning things around for the franchise in his first year on the sidelines for the departed Andy Reid.  The Eagles set numerous franchise records from an offensive standpoint, which includes scoring 442 points and gaining 6,676 total net yards.  It’s also important to point out that the squad turned the ball over just 19 times.  Philadelphia went 4-4 SU and 3-5 ATS at home during the regular season.

The Eagles have one of the more dynamic offensive players in running back LeSean McCoy, who set a single-season individual record by gaining 1,607 yards on the ground.  Philadelphia also received great play under center by quarterback Nick Foles—posting a 119.2 passer rating.  His main target will be playmaker DeSean Jackson, who caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns.

Sports bettors will likely back the Eagles due to the Saints failing to cover the number in their last six road games.
