The New York Giants have put up a lot of points following a straight-up loss this year

New York has alternated wins and losses over its last five games, as it comes off a disappointing 34-0 setback to the Atlanta Falcons as one-point road underdogs, while going UNDER the total for the fifth time in six contests.  The Giants are certainly capable of bouncing back, considering they’ve gone 4-1 in games following a loss this season, averaging 37.0 points per game in that situation.  New York is 2-2 ATS as a road favorite over the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 3-1 in that situation.

The Giants have forced at least one turnover in 42 of their last 46 games, which is a key statistic to consider when making your NFL picks against the spread Sunday.  New York has done a tremendous job in protecting quarterback Eli Manning this season, allowing an NFL-best 15 sack when he’s under center.  Head coach Tom Coughlin has compiled a 38-25 all-time record against AFC North opponents, including a 9-6 mark versus the Ravens.

Baltimore has lost and failed to cover the spread in its last three games, including a 34-17 defeat to the Denver Broncos last week as three-point home underdogs, while also losing the statistical battle in each of those contests.  “We’ve got work to do,” stated Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.  The Ravens have the league’s fourth-best home record since the franchise’s inception in 1996, but it has dropped back-to-back games at M&T Bank Stadium under Harbaugh for the first time.  Baltimore is 4-7 ATS in December since 2010, with the OVER going 6-5 in that situation.

The Ravens still have the ability to clinch the AFC North division with a victory this week, as they try to avoid their first four-game slide since losing nine in a row back in 2007.  Baltimore needs a big performance out of quarterback Joe Flacco, who has thrown for 3,475 yards and 20 touchdowns in 14 games this season.

Sports bettors will likely play the total in this affair, as the OVER is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings in this out-of-conference series.
