The Creighton Blue Jays are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus Big Ten Conference opponents

Creighton plays its first true road game of the year when it heads an hour west to take on Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, as it comes off an impressive 80-51 victory over Saint Joseph’s as six-point home favorites.  “It showed a lot of maturity from our team,” stated Bluejays star Doug McDermott.  “We didn’t get too down on ourselves.”  He was referencing the team’s first loss of the season to Boise State before that contest.  Creighton is 4-0 ATS in its last four games versus Big Ten Conference foes, which is important to consider when making your NCAA basketball picks on Thursday.

The Blue Jays are led by McDermott averaging 21.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, as he was the nation’s leading returning scorer from a year ago.  Creighton has won 10 of the past 13 regular-season matchups with Nebraska, but the teams have alternated wins and losses in the last seven meetings.  It’s important to note that this program walked away with a 76-66 victory as 7.5-point home favorites in last year’s meeting.

Nebraska has won back-to-back games over the USC Trojans and Wake Forest Demon Deacons, as its 6-1 mark matches the program’s best start in 20 years.  “I don’t think we’ll raise any eyebrows unless we win on Thursday,” stated Cornhuskers coach Tim Miles.  “We know they’re nationally ranked, they’ve got a great team.”  The Cornhuskers have been led by Ray Gallegos offensively, who has scored 20 points in each of his last two contests.  Nebraska is 4-5 ATS in December the last two-plus years, with the UNDER going 7-2 in that situation.

The Cornhuskers have been solid defensively through seven games, allowing just 58.6 points per game, which may prove important with the home team winning the last seven meetings in this series dating back to the 2005-06 campaign.  Nebraska will need to monitor McDermott closely, as he scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in last year’s meeting.

Sports bettors will likely back the Cornhuskers due to the home team going 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in this series, while the Blue Jays are 0-4 ATS on the road versus a team with a winning home record.
