Philadelphia would match the longest losing streak in NBA history with a defeat Thursday, as the team has dropped its last 25 games, including a 113-91 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs as 20-point road underdogs Monday.  The 76ers have three of five probable starters averaging in double figures, with forward Thaddeus Young leading the way at 18.0 points a contest, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA predictions.    The franchise has won nine of the last 12 games in this series—after losing 11 of the previous 13 meetings.  Philadelphia is 0-9 SU and 5-4 ATS as road underdogs of 12.5 or more points during the 2013-14 campaign.

The 76ers have been happy with the production they’ve received from rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams, who leads all rookies in averaging 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.  Philadelphia is 8-4 SU in games decided by five or fewer points this season, which is much better than its 5-10 mark in that situation a year ago.

Houston has won four games in a row, including a 100-89 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats as five-point road favorites last time out, while going UNDER the betting total for the first time in six contests.  The Rockets have all five probable starters averaging double figures, with that group being led by shooting guard James Harden, who is scoring 24.9 points a contest.  The franchise is 28-7 SU at home this season, including a perfect 14-0 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  Houston is 8-1 SU and 1-6-2 ATS as home favorites of 12.5 or more points the last two-plus seasons.

The Rockets have run their current home winning streak to a season-best 10 in a row, which marks just the ninth double-digit home winning streak in team history.  Houston is third in the league in averaging 106.8 points per game, with Harden ranking fifth in the league in scoring.

Sports bettors will likely back the Rockets due to their 4-1 ATS mark in their last five home games.
