The Phoenix Suns were swept in three meetings by the Denver Nuggets a season ago

Denver has won four games in a row, including a 107-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors as 2.5-point road favorites, while going OVER the total in three of its last five games.  The Nuggets have four probable starters that are averaging in double figures offensively, with new addition Andre Iguodala leading the way in averaging 15.1 points per game.  The team owns a perfect 3-0 mark versus Western Conference foes this year, which is an important factor to consider when looking over the pro basketball odds.  Denver is 41-18 ATS in its last 59 road games.

The Nuggets will definitely be challenged as a favorite in this contest, considering the home team is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings in this series.   Denver did manage to win all three meetings a season ago, including a 118-107 win as four-point road underdogs on April 21, 2012.  Second-year forward Kenneth Faried is continuing to impress the league with his play, averaging 17.6 points and 12.6 rebounds over the last four games.

Phoenix had its two-game win streak snapped in a 94-81 setback to the Utah Jazz as 8.5-point road underdogs on Saturday night, but that performance can be forgiven in playing the second game of a back-to-back situation in the high altitude of Salt Lake City.  The Suns also have four players in the starting lineup that are averaging double figures in points, with point guard Goran Dragic filling in nicely for the departed Steve Nash, averaging 16.0 points and scoring at least 10 points in all seven games this year.  Phoenix is 9-1 ATS at home versus a team with a losing road record.

The Suns have won 12 of their last 14 home games against the Nuggets, but have lost six consecutive in the series.  Phoenix has trailed by double digits in six of seven games this season, as it looks to build some continuity in a lineup that features a league-high tying three international players.  The entire locker room is focused on starting a season 3-1 at the US Airways Center for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.

I’m going to recommend that you add the Suns as one of your pro basketball picks Monday night, as the home team has compiled a 19-7-1 ATS record in the last 27 meetings.
