The Washington Wizards are 31-15 ATS as an underdog this season

Washington has won and covered the spread in two consecutive games, including a 105-103 victory over the Houston Rockets as 1.5-point home underdogs last Saturday, while going UNDER the total for the fifth time in six contests.  The Wizards are the NBA’s worst road team with a 4-22 mark, but they have won 13 of their last 22 games overall.  Washington is 31-15 ATS as an underdog this season, with the UNDER going 28-18 in that situation, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA picks against the spread Monday night.

The Wizards are 1-15 away from home when taking on Eastern Conference opponents, which is important to consider when looking over the pro basketball odds page.  Washington’s resurgence really lined up with the return of starting point guard John Wall to the lineup, as he’s averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 assists in 21 games.  Offensively, the team is averaging 96.4 points per game with him on the floor, while it was held to 89.2 without him.

Toronto has also been playing its best basketball of the 2012-13 season, as it has won six of its last seven games, including a 100-98 victory over the New York Knicks as one-point home underdogs last Friday.  The Raptors have been very pleased with the offensive production of forward Rudy Gay since he was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies, as he is averaging 21.4 points in 10 games.  Toronto is 5-2 ATS as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points this season, with the UNDER going 5-2 in that situation.

The Raptors have won seven of their last 10 games versus conference opponents, while they’ve enjoyed success recently due to their defense.  Toronto is holding foes to 92.9 points through 10 games this month, which is tied for the fifth-fewest points in the league during that span.  The team is hoping that center Andrea Bargnani can start putting things together, as he’s been held scoreless over 34 minutes of combining action in his last two games.

Sports bettors will likely play the total in this affair, as the UNDER is 17-6 in the Raptors last 23 home games versus a team with a losing road record.
